Becoming Board Certified

As one of the final steps to becoming a doctor, you have the ability to become Board Certified. What does being a Board Certified Doctor mean? After obtaining your medical license to practice you have the option to show that you are an expert in your field, instead of just passing the exams and licensing material. This gives a doctor more of a trusted background because of their ability to perform at an expert level and specialize in other categories as well. In regards to becoming board certified, you also have to maintain the certification level, through the ABMS program for Maintenance of Certification (MOC). What the ABMS program does is that it continually challenges physicians to improve and constantly assess their abilities in the medical field, It also develops their skills and develop as well in their respected fields.
