Here at Michigan State University, the Nursing program is a highly prestigious school within our college. To get into the MSU Nursing school you have to apply at the end of your freshman year with hopes of being accepted into it going into your sophomore year.
Only 120 people are accepted into the Nursing program per admission process. They have admission eligible every semester, and you can start applying at the end of freshman year. Right now there are about 500 or so people in the Pre-Nursing school which mostly are going to apply to get into the Nursing school. If you don't get in at the end of freshman year you do have the option to apply once again at the beginning of your sophomore year. If you still do not get in, most people either transfer to another school for it's Nursing program there, or they switch their majors.
So with all of that said getting into the Nursing program here is highly competitive and you need good academics and perseverance to get everything you need to be done to get in.
This post is very informative as to how the nursing program works. As a no-preference major, I am unsure about what I'd like to do, but nursing and the medical field in general is something I've been interested in but isn't something I've looked into a whole lot. It's nice to know more about it and this information is very important and something i'd definitely like to know while considering this field.

If you are looking into the medical field, nursing is an excellent choice. Although it is very competitive it is an amazing career.
