As a Pre-Nursing major you constantly have to keep thinking about your future and what you want to do with it. Nursing is just a small part of what it leads up to be, when you're a nurse it can lead into many different types of nursing fields. There are 104 Nursing Specialty fields today, some of the more popular ones are: Ambulatory Nurse, Clinical Nurse, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Emergency or ER Nurse, Hospice Nurse, Nurse Anesthetist, Nurse Practitioner, and many more.
You may be confused on what you would possibly want to do with that many opportunities for your future, but you are for sure bound to find something you are interested within that field. The good thing about nursing is that it can lead into a lot of different things, and you can for sure find your passion within one of them.

My jaw dropped when I read there are 104 specialty fields for nursing. You basically can't say nothing fits you because there are 104 things to chose from. Do you have an idea of what you want to do with so many options?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Undecided Team's comment, 104 speciality fields of nursing is insane! It was a very interesting post, and makes me wonder what nurses want to do with their careers, whether it is continue being a nurse, or move up the rankings within the medical field to a higher leveled job.
ReplyDeleteYou can easily change what type of nurse of you become so don't feel restricted to just one field. My step mom was an ER RN, a home care RN and now a she's a home care supervisor. I also know somebody who's a nurse who changes the state she lives in all the time just because she can always find a job anywhere she goes as a nurse!
